Hello Through the Word family!
Today we’re celebrating because Through the Word 5.0 has officially arrived. We’re really excited to share it with you.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you should receive a prompt in the app to update. If not, you can simply follow this link for the Apple App Store or this link for the Google Play Store.
Once you’ve updated—take a look around! The overall layout will feel familiar, but there are a few important improvements designed to make your experience even better.

A New Way to Stay Organized
On the main page, you’ll notice the menu now includes “My Plans” and “Groups.”
This change helps keep things organized:
- My Plans now contains all the Bible plans you’re doing individually.
- Groups is where you’ll find plans you’re following together with others.
If you’ve been part of a group plan before, you’ll now see it in this new Groups section.
A Fresh Groups Experience
The Groups page also includes a new welcome audio, so be sure to listen—it’ll help you get acquainted with what’s new.
One of the most requested updates is finally here: group messaging. Now you can send text messages directly within your group, and the layout works just like a familiar texting app, with messages appearing chronologically in a simple, clear conversation thread. Basically it will feel just like a messaging app with both text and audio—plus Bible guides.
